Molds inevitably accumulate dirt on their surfaces during long-term use, and the amount of dirt increases over time. This not only affects the appearance of the products but also affects the dimensional accuracy of the product’s outer edge as the thickness of the dirt layer increases. Therefore, regular cleaning is necessary to ensure the normal use of the molds. This has been recognized as part of the maintenance of injection molds.

Almost all thermoplastic materials used in injection molding processes can cause mold fouling. When the functional requirements of the final product require the incorporation of related additives (such as modifiers, flame retardants, etc.), these additives are likely to remain on the mold cavity surface, leading to mold fouling.

Advantages of dry ice cleaning for injection molds:

No abrasion, the cleaning intensity can be adjusted arbitrarily, reducing equipment wear and extending service life.

Dry ice cleaning does not produce secondary pollutants, greatly reducing the cost of pollutant treatment.

Online dry ice cleaning reduces equipment downtime and improves productivity.

Effectively removes dirt in corners, crevices, dead angles, and uneven surfaces and edges.

Odorless, carbon dioxide can be recycled.

The equipment to be cleaned does not need to be disassembled or cooled down, and can be cleaned online.

Dry ice cleaning is dry, leaving no residue of moisture.
